What is the comparative effectiveness of health system, community-based, and usual dementia care?In this randomized clinical trial including 2176 community-dwelling person living with dementia–caregiver dyads, outcomes measuring cognition and functional status for persons living with dementia and caregiver outcomes measuring caregiver burden and positive aspects of caregiving did not differ significantly between treatment groups. However, caregivers in the 2 intervention groups rated their satisfaction with care higher than those in the usual care group.Although standardized clinical measures did not differ by treatment, caregivers were more satisfied with standardized dementia care interventions.
