What are the measurement properties of Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System (PROMIS) measures among patients with chronic skin diseases? In this cohort study of 549 patients with chronic skin diseases, PROMIS measures assessing social satisfaction, social isolation, pain intensity, and itch intensity demonstrated strong measurement properties, including responsiveness to change. PROMIS measures for anxiety and depression also demonstrated adequate structural validity, internal consistency, and construct validity but were less responsive to change than the Skindex-29.PROMIS measures may assess the physical, emotional, and social effects of chronic skin diseases, and measures for physical and social impact may detect changes with treatment.
