In this qualitative study of patients, caregivers, and nephrologists, support for CKM was limited, despite patients consistently citing reasons for choosing CKM. Expanding CKM will require nephrologist training, caregiver-inclusive decision-making, institutional CKM pathways, and policies that incentivize its use.
